Meadow Birds - Romantic Vase

The green glaze is slightly matt, with the central paintings more shiny.

The ovals and bow details on the bottom of the vessel are decorated with a resist technique, which gives a lovely graphic feel, and contrasts nicely with the hand-painted drawings.
The paintings inside the windows are polychrome oxide paintings and depict a Heron and Cormorant, which I often watch by the river Waveney.
